As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Bethany Gentry has experience in providing psychotherapy to children and adults in the outpatient setting, group care setting and in private practice. Since 2017, Bethany has been providing trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) to children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. Bethany enjoys helping children, their parents and their supporters heal from life-changing situations.
Being a part of the magic of a child letting their guard down, learning to trust again, love again and resume healthy development has been the spark that keeps Bethany going.
Bethany joined Southmountain in 2019 as a clinician at the Blue Ridge Children’s Advocacy Center. Growing and learning from wonderful mentors, Bethany moved into a clinical supervisor role with Southmountain in 2022. In her new position, she supports clinicians across the state in providing TF-CBT services to children and their families.
A graduate of Appalachian State University where she received her Masters of Social Work, Bethany enjoys spending time with her husband and their son. She loves to read and spend time outside with her family.
