Danica Ciaramita
Danica completed her Masters's in Counseling Psychology at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Upon completion of her degree, she moved back to North Carolina to be closer to her parents where she spent eight years working in Buncombe County providing case management and individual therapy. Danica spent six of those years concentrating on in-home therapy services and discovered her passion for working with families who had experienced trauma. Supporting families and helping them develop healthier and safer interactions, enabling them to remain together, made it possible for Danica to find purpose in her work.
Danica joined Southmountain in 2013, as a Clinician in the McDowell County Child Advocacy Center. As she developed into a more competent trauma-informed provider, Ms Ciaramita was promoted to the Program Manager of Southmountain’s Journeys Home Program. Journeys Home focuses on the provision of clinical and case management services to the children, and their families, who reside at Southmountain’s Foster Community. This new role is a culmination of Danica’s years of experience. She brings her enthusiam and excitement to this innovative program that values permanency for children and families.
