Caterpillar Foundation Helps Make Academic Enrichment Program Possible
The Caterpillar Foundation recently awarded a grant of $3,450 to Southmountain Children and Family Services to support a new academic enrichment program that began on campus this fall. Susan Childers, a national award winning educator has been providing academic support to the children of our Foster Community. Susan uses a hands-on, exploratory method of teaching that is very effective for children. During the last year, Southmountain has expanded enrichment opportunities for children on our campus and is now offering free music lessons, art classes, and an academic enrichment program.
This grant was supported by Caterpillar Precision Engine Components of Morganton and Toye Holloway that helped Southmountain get the grant approved. Thank You to the Caterpillar Foundation and the local Caterpillar Manufacturer for helping making our academic program possible!
